Today an assembly was held to acknowledge our top achievers in NCEA 2006. This is a clear demonstration of Rutherford's emphasis on Academic Achievement both in the school exams and in externals.
Present at this assembly were special guests Mr Brinkman from the BOT, Mr Jameson principal of Rangeview Intermediate and Mrs Fletcher principal of Te Atatu Intermediate. Announcing our honours was Mr Moore, with Ms Martell, Mr Sizer and Mrs Taylor presenting the year 11, 12 and 13 honours respectively. Dr Colvine also presented our NZQA scholarship receivers with prizes.

Pita Hohepa - Biology taught by Dr Singh and in English taught by Ms Edwards
Patrick Anderson - Physical Education taught by Mr Mataia
David Olsen - Physics taught by Dr Colvine
Jane Edge - Media Studies taught by Mrs Betanzo
Those students who received Honours and/or Scholarship were all awarded with an Honours Tie and a certificate. Each NZQA Scholarship was worth $500, and those that received 1st in year were awarded $500, 2nd received $250 and 3rd received $150.
Congratulations to all those students honoured in todays assembly and to all those who weren't acknowledged but achieved to the best of their ability last year.
