The Studio Show is Rutherford's version of a variety show, and in fact started off as the Variety Show in 1980. Over the last 26 years it has grown and evolved into a show unique to Rutherford, showcasing some of the school's finest in performing arts.
The show is a good opportunity for performing arts students to perform as part of their NCEA assessments, as well as show the local community what they have been working hard lately. Many original dances, and original music has been performed, showing just how talented Rutherford students are.
The Studio Show has been held in Room 90, or the theatre throughout its time, until the theatre was demolished to make way for the new Information Commons at the end of 2005. 2006 will see the Studio Show being held in the hall for the first time, and some of the best performances will go on tour, visiting a few of the nearby schools.
